Study and Stay

Stay in the beautiful city of Bath and improve your English

Below you will find the range of different study programmes I offer including the type of cultural experiences you can expect and the accommodation on offer. Please let me know what type of study programme you would like and for how long using the contact form. Go to the Fees page for more detailed information.

Study Programmes

General English - all levels

General speaking practice, work on your pronunciation, grammar, writing, reading, and/or listening skills. Let me know your level and what you would like to focus on.

Exam Preparation/Business English

As a former Cambridge Examiner I can offer you lots of tips to improve your exam performance for the Cambridge First, Advanced, Proficiency, as well as the Business Suite (Vantage and Higher) and IELTS . We can work on all the skills as well as grammar and vocabulary. For Business English we can study any business topics of your choice.

English for Busy People

Not everyone has a lot of time to study if you are a professional person and/or a parent, for example. Benefit from a short stay but intensive study programme to suit your needs.

Culture and Conversation

You need to have a reasonable level (minimum B1 level) of English to enjoy this option. The focus will be on enjoying different excursions and talking about your experiences. I will accompany you on an excursion in Bath. There will be greater emphasis on using your language in the "real world" and therefore 'lesson' time will also include discussing, planning and organising your excursions. This will likely mean going to the tourist office together so you can book your trips!

Cultural Experiences

Bath - World Heritage City

There is so much to see and do in the city itself. Why not visit the Thermae Bath Spa for some relaxation, join one of the free walking tours to learn about the history, visit the world renowned Royal Crescent or take afternoon tea in the Pump Rooms (above). If you are fond of literature, you could visit the Jane Austen Centre. Or why not take an open-top double decker bus ride around the city? You can even kayak on the river!

In and Around Bath

Bath is situated in the southwest of England and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is only two hours from London and an hour from Salisbury and Stonehenge. You could visit the Cotswolds, beautiful typically English villages in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Or spend some time in Bristol, a bigger city with attractions such as Brunel's famous ship the SS Great Britain. I will advise you depending on your interests and help you organise your trips.

Accommodation and Food

I will provide you with different accommodation options which you can book according to your budget/preference from:

  1. Backpacker hostel/self-catering (cheapest)
  2. Bed&Breakfast (middle)
  3. Hotel (more expensive)

All options will be in the city so you can attend your lessons easily on foot and reach any meeting points to start your optional excursions.

I will also provide you with information on different eating options including pub food, fish n' chips, places to grab a snack as well as restaurants to suit different tastes and budgets.
